Origin is not a marketing shorthand. We separate catch, landing and processing information and request the available evidence for the specific lot.

Much of the Carabinero traded internationally is not caught in Spanish waters, and much of the octopus processed in Spain is caught elsewhere. We state the documented FAO zone and flag state for the offered lot, whether or not the answer is Spain.
